My take: I think Champion Hotel is a hidden gem in the budget hotel category. I didn’t have high expectations for it, but I really enjoyed staying at Champion Hotel With an area of 20 square meters, the deluxe double room is almost twice the size of other budget hotels at this price and is relatively clean with a stunning aesthetic. Its main drawbacks are the lack of facilities (no pool or gym) and slightly inconvenient location (it’s a ten-minute walk to the nearest MRT). However, if you mainly want to spend your time in the room and are just looking for some privacy, I think the Champion Hotel is the best option under $50.

For those looking for an affordable boutique hotel experience in the East, the Santa Grand Hotel East Coast fits the bill perfectly.

My Opinion: I really enjoyed my stay at Santa Grand Hotel Eastcoast and I would say it exceeded my expectations. Despite its low price, the hotel ticked many boxes The location is great (lots of delicious food options around), the lobby was comfortable to wait in, the service was good (they decorated the bed in the photo above) and the rooftop pool is an added bonus. Although not as spacious as the Hotel Royal Newton, the 16m² deluxe room I felt was comfortable and not cramped. It was also clean and had a bathtub – what more could you ask for?

My Opinion: I really think Five/6 Hotel Splendor offers one of the best rooms – if not the best – for under $100. Every aspect of the room exceeds its value, from the plush mattresses and 49-inch curved Samsung 4K TV (with full-motion wall mount, soundbar, and wireless subwoofer), to the abundant in-room amenities and stylish bathrooms. My Opinion: To me, Hotel G epitomizes the boutique hotel experience Yes, there are some drawbacks – the room is not the biggest, and due to size restrictions, some amenities are missing (such as fridge, cupboard or storage space). But these were minor annoyances that didn’t really detract from the overall experience Hotel G is very successful in conveying its dynamic atmosphere, which is evident from the service staff to the room design. The rooms are also clean, more than worth the price like METIS toilet and GROHE rain shower For less than $100 (including late check-out and breakfast), Hotel G is a solid value proposition for those looking for a unique lodging experience. And for those wondering, the food at the Jeanette and 25 Degrees hotel restaurants is also excellent – both regular haunts of mine.

However, if you prefer an all-inclusive hotel experience, the Ramada by Wyndham is a steal for the price.

My Opinion: I believe Ramada is a hidden gem in the heart It’s not one of the usual places that comes to mind when booking accommodation and that’s a shame The Ramada consistently exceeded my expectations, from the immaculately clean rooms (modernly equipped with bathtubs for trunks) to the picturesque pool and gardens. The service is excellent and the food from the New Ubin Hotel restaurant is also delicious (be sure to order the fried rice). For under $100, the Ramada is a great value proposition and is personally my favorite of the 5 hotels I’ve listed at this price point.

Perhaps the most value-packed option at $200, Furama Riverfront offers full service and large, renovated rooms without breaking the bank.

My Opinion: I appreciated the simplicity and modern touches of the Deluxe Tropical Room and loved its relatively large size. And compared to its sister Furama City Center, Furama Riverfront’s facilities (pool, gym, lobby, etc.) are also well maintained, albeit at a similar price. It’s also in a central area, with plenty of food (Great World City is a stone’s throw away) and drinks (it’s close to Clarke Pier). And as icing on the cake, the service was also top notch

For those who want something different and ultimate convenience, Life Fun is a trendy young offering located at the top of Fanun Mall.

My View: My first stay at the Van Farer Hotel was not the best – I found a lot of cleanliness in the room which was frankly inappropriate for a hotel of its status. However, after highlighting the situation to management, the One Farrer Hotel actually offered accommodation in its Skyline Studios (with lounge access) as a goodwill gesture. Mistakes are bound to happen in the hospitality industry, but how hotels respond to those mistakes shows potential One Fare Hotel has done a great job of getting their service back on track and I thoroughly enjoyed my second stay, the service being a highlight. In fact, I’d say the service at the One Fare Hotel is the best I’ve ever experienced (shout out to Mr. Malek of Skyline Lounge). Befitting a 5 star establishment, the facilities are also excellent At its current price of ~$150+, I think the One Farrer Hotel is a steal with its spacious rooms, plentiful amenities, and top-notch service.
